F.E. Robbins
A.A., B.A., MSTCM, L.Ac.
Acupuncturist/Herbalist
Many years ago and as a long time resident of Visalia, CA, Mr. Robbins recognized the need for natural and holistic medicine in the Central Valley. To that end, in the early 1990's he decided to re-invent himself. He went back to school and spent the next 5 years studying Western and Eastern medicine obtaining a Masters of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA. In any other health profession, i.e., MD, Dentist, Chiropractor, Podiatrist, etc. this would be eqvivalent to a clinical doctorate but in the State of California it is limited to Masters level.
He is co-founder, President and CEO of the Center for Integrated Medicine. Not since the 1800's when there was no doubt Chinese immigrants practicing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Visalia he is the most tenured practitoner of this ancient healing art. The Center for Integrated Medicine maintains two locations, one in Visalia and one in Hanford, CA. Recently, the Hanford clinic has been converted to a Community Acupuncture clinc, the first of it's kind in the Central Valley. In the interest of helathcare reform, this was Mr. Robbins' attempt at a free market solution to the rising cost of healthcare in Kings County.
Mr. Robbins believes that "the differences between Western and Eastern medicine are not that one should be regarded as being superior to the other but that they should be sought out as to their benefit to the patient depending on their individual circumstances and after weighing the pros and cons of treatment. Both serve their purpose. In the final analysis, there is no dichotomy of medicine, however, there is only one medicine and that one medicine encompasses all healing."
Mr. Robbins has written and lectured on many topics of Chinese medicine. Mr. Robbins is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is a Doctorate Fellow at Five Branches University, San Jose, CA
